Using different media (drawing, photography, video, textiles and performance), I collect fragments and pieces of real life (real objects, images, words), which I then reinsert in my artworks, into space. I am interested in investigating how the encounter between form and matter can acquire truth through human participation, as well as how it can reveal something about humanity itself. In my work, discards lose their appearance and become traces of affection and relationships, which speak of the everyday. These fragments of reality are transformed by an aesthetic that cultivates the wonder of vision and the patience of elementary operations. I try to maintain poetic, ironic, dramatic and, above all, rebellious elements in my work, convinced that artistic practice makes sense if it touches something deep within us, if it exposes us to sensitive issues. I abandon myself with confidence to fun and turmoil.
I worked as a graphic designer for about 15 years, freelancing and collaborating with various agencies in New York, Milan and Bombay. In 2014 I founded my own visual communication and creative direction studio. My artistic studies began in Milan at the Brera Academy and continued in Munich, where I am currently living, working and studying
at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Studying graphic design has enabled me to develop a range of tools that support my artistic research. As a graphic designer, I gave answers; as an artist, I raise questions.
This online portfolio brings together a selection of works exhibited over the last five years in museums, academies, foundations and independent exhibition spaces in Italy and Germany.
